Abstract
Abstract
Construction of dams on rivers is one of the ways of storing and distribution of the surface water. The existence of these dams impacts the quality of water along the rivers in watersheds. In consecutive (back-to-back) dams, part of the downstream dam water passes through the upstream dam, and the water retention and how the upstream dam is used can change the water quality of the downstream dam. In this article, two dams of Golpayegan and Koocheray in the central watershed of Iran have been studied. For this purpose, using available field data, 3D simulation has been done using MIKE3 software. In this article, the simulation process is described. The acceptable accuracy of the calibration of the model prepared in this way showed that this model provides the possibility of simulating and studying water quality by implementing different environmental scenarios.
